Translation style guide for The Last Continue of GameGuadia

First of all, I'd like to apologize for not having any posts up for 2 weeks; this break is not only due to my job, but also due to my trying to finalize the translation conventions that I'll use for this blog.

After this last bit of boilerplate, I should be ready to go with the actual blog content--and I look forward to making more frequent updates.

So here goes nothing--this set of conventions isn't perfect, but hopefully it should cover most of the cases that I'll encounter for my translations...

Welcome to The Last Continue of GameGuadia!

Hello, and welcome to my blog, The Last Continue of GameGuadia!

This blog will mainly be an outlet for me to share my thoughts on various retro gaming topics, with a special focus in translating written retro gaming material from Japan.  Among the translation work I plan to do for this blog, I will concentrate on written material pertaining to a Japanese TV retro gaming show called GameCenter CX--which features a comedian struggling to complete older games, classic or otherwise, mostly dating from the Famicom/NES to the PlayStation era. (To find out more about GameCenter CX, please take a look at this wonderful episode guide by Ray Barnholt of crunkgames.com, which I've also put into the blog's sidebar.)

While I'm not the most hardcore retro gamer or the best Japanese translator around--I will strive my hardest to make The Last Continue of GameGuadia an enjoyable experience for everyone who may stumble upon it. If time permits, I may even expand the scope of the blog a little bit ^_^

Again, thank you for reading my blog, and I look forward to writing more in the future.
どうぞよろしくお願いします。

(In case you're wondering what my name is: lastcontinue would do.)
